For the second instalment of my '7 days' series, I thought I would focus on Lip looks, more specifically the lip looks I've been sporting all winter as lets face it - we are not seeing the back of winter any time soon!
I've included lots of berry shades and warm reds and oranges reminiscent of cosy fires and crispy leaves. Most of these shades I have found to be really versatile and I love using each and every one of these. Even though each of these range in texture and finish, they are all comfortable, pigmented and easy to apply which I think are the most important features in a lip product. So, here's what made the line up..
First off, I know your probably thinking there is a lot of Revlon in the mix here and I'm not being sponsored by anyone on this post, I just think Revlon do the best lip products on the high street.
Here's some swatches of these beauties...
What a gorgeous line up! But would you wear these throughout the week? I'm personally pretty comfortable wearing bold lip colours throughout the week and shy aware from garish eye looks so if your like me, then below is how I rock these daily.
Revlon Colorburst Matte Balme in audacious 245 - £7.99
Mondays always start the same way for me. I'm tired, I'm grouchy and I spend the day shocked at how quick the weekend went. I find in these instances I need cheering up and I am desperate for ways I can perk up my make-up with minimal effort. This balme stick from Revlon is perfection and I have got so much use out of this. It is bright and pigmented as well as being balmy and moisturising and even tingles on application. It has a matte finish which is very on trend and the pencil stick style makes application fool proof. To prove how much I loved this, It even featured in my LoBloggs best of 2014 Post.
Revlon Super lustrous lipstick in black cherry 477 - £7.49
Tuesday usually is the busiest day of the week for me and I think this shade shows that you mean business! It's a gorgeous dark brown toned red that is vampy yet somehow wearable. It's never featured on my blog as of yet which is surprising as it's probably my fail safe lipstick as it seems to go with everything. It does look dark and vampy but can be toned down worn over a balm to leave a gorgeous but subtle tint.
Rimmel apocalips lip velvet in atomic rose 206 - £6.49
Wednesday I feel is time to tone it down a little and I like to go for a super girly look. This can also be dressed up with a smokey eye. This colour is so flattering and I feel this would suit so many people. It has a matte finish and its not the most comfortable out of the line up but once your used to it, its a stunner. I've compared this newer matte effect apocalips to the originals in this blog here
Revlon colorstay moisture stain in shanghai sizzle 040 - £7.99
Of course it doesn't take long before I'm back to bolds and this offering from Revlon is probably the glossiest out of my line up so is great for all of you gloss lovers out there. Thursdays are always hit and miss and this can be applied thinly to give a more sheer effect. This is very build able too so if your not sure about the shade first thing in the morning, go in with a light hand and build it up as the day goes on. I reviewed these unique gloss/stains a while back here
Sleek True colour lipstick matte in mystic 783 - £4.99
I absolutely love this colour! I spent so long trying to find a bright popping matte berry/fuchsia hybrid like this one and when I discovered this gem from sleek I was other the moon. Naturally this also featured in my best of 2014 blog and I think its a great day to night shade which is why its awesome for a Friday. I usually where this over balm during the day for a more sheer effect and then up the ante in the evening. This punchy shade is blue toned so is flattering on the old gnashers too giving them a more white effect. Bonus!
Lasting Finish by Kate lipstick In 04 - £5.49
I spend Saturdays either shopping or mooching about the house and I usually opt for a more rock chick look and I love this dark vampy purpley colour. I have a couple of the Kate moss lipsticks and they are gorgeous. they feel creamy on the lips and smell sweet too. I always love it when a lipstick smells nice. This can be dressed up nicely with dark metallic pewter eye shades or lilac toned highlighter. I feel this is fairly similar to mac 'cyber' which I have been lusting over for a while.
MUA lipstick in shade 1 - £1
The only criticism I have with this lipstick is its unimaginative name. But I can oversee that due to this being such a creamy comfortable red. Its not drying at all and even has a pot of more product at the bottom of the tube. Amazing! I chose this for Sunday because a classic red is fail safe on a Sunday when you don't want to wear much make up at all. Just whack this on and your good to go! perfect for any occasion and there is a red for everyone!
What are your weekly favourites? do you like to rock bold lips? what shades do you prefer?
